We produced our 2007 Grenache with 100% Grenache grapes grown at the Dark Horse Ranch in Ukiah Valley’s southeastern bench lands. Dark Horse Ranch is Demeter-certified Biodynamic.<br /><br />The Redvine Soils at Dark Horse Ranch are consistent with our other high-elevation vineyard sites in the Ukiah Valley. These soils create a unique terroir, increasingly recognized for producing distinct wines. These gravelly and well-drained Redvine soils are high in iron and reddish in color.<br /><br />We selectively harvested the crop in two lots to optimize quality and also to retain the unique flavor profiles of different vineyard microclimates. We separately fermented the two lots and aged them in the finest French oak barrels, blending the lots prior to bottling. <br /> <br />Our 2007 Grenache shows uncommon depth and color. It exhibits aromatic profiles of blueberries and ripe black cherry. This wine will continually develop over time or with decanting.</p>
